Thanks to all of you who have passed on Anya's study to appropriate
colleagues and new mothers. The surveys are coming in and to date Anya
has received close to 200 responses. Most of these respondents are
mothers of healthy full term babies.
If you know of new mothers, or colleagues who know new mothers whose
babies remained in the hospital after they went home, for whatever
reason and for however long, please let them know about the study and
encourage them to pass the word to others in similar situation.
The survey will remain online for response until the end of January. www.surveymonkey.com/s/mothers_experiences
We look forward to sharing findings when the study is completed.
Thank you all for your help with this important research.
Happy holidays to all,
Naomi
==============================================
Dear Colleagues,
Research is an important part of the mission of the Mothers' Milk Bank
of New England. We are working with Anya Dashevsky, a graduate student
at the Mass. School of Professional Psychology, who is conducting a
study on the experiences of first time mothers, description below. It
is a web based survey, so participants can complete the survey at
their convenience. The study is for any first time mother whose baby
is under 12 months old, including mothers of premature and full term,
healthy and hospitalized babies.
The study has IRB approval from MSPP, all data are anonymous and are
not linked with names and emails submitted for the drawing and
requests for study findings.
If you would like to check out the study, you must approve the
informed consent and then please scroll through the questions without
answering them, to keep the data clean.
We would be happy to provide copies of this letter on MSPP letterhead
to distribute to your patients and clients.
Thank you for your help with this study, feel free to contact me or
Anya if you have any questions.
Naomi
