Same problem here.
No community colleges, and no such option to take just few classes. If one wants to take the required classes, one has to enroll for a degree in nursing/midwifery - and this takes time, money and great efforts.
Some of our LLL Leaders were hoping to sit for the exam as they are interested in the field of lactation and certainly their knowledge is good enough. Now this is going to be nearly impossible for them. Even if some online classes appear in Health E-Learning, it would be way more expensive to qualify for the IBCLC exam.
The new requirements might work for some US residents, but certainly aren't good for people outside USA.
