I work a couple blocks from Linda, and can tell you that in this city mixing formula powder with EBM is a not uncommon suggestion by pediatricians.  I hate explaining the problems to parents (brick wall bruises my forehead).  I've also heard a couple parents come up with the idea on their own in hopes of getting the baby to sleep longer.
