Thank you, Rachel, for this information!
Just before this e-mail came in, I was watching 'Orgasmic Birth', in which
she figures.
I will have the honour of hearing her speak in Bad Wildbad in Germany at the
Midwifery Conference from 19-23 October 2011.
She and her husband as well as Michel Odent will be keynote speakers at this
event.
Will you be there also?! :-) Anyone else from Lactnet, with whom we (I'll be
with three colleagues) can meet?
Best,
Marianne Vanderveen IBCLC, Netherlands

Subject: Breastfeeding supporter honored with international award
http://www.rightlivelihood.org/inamay_gaskin.html
"She also promotes breastfeeding and fights against hospital routines which
unnecessarily separate newborns from their mothers, as well as puritanical
attitudes which discourage many women from breastfeeding. In some U.S.
states it is still unusual for breastfeeding mothers to be seen in public,
and some mothers have been threatened with arrest for doing so."
This award is well deserved.
