While reading recent posts, I noticed Susan mentioned because she lives in the USA she has to use pounds and ounces.
I find this interesting, because I am also in the US and in recent years have worked in three different facilities - all exclusively use metric.
In the one community hospital I worked in for ages I remember when the "biomedical team" came around and did something to all the scales in the whole hospital so they could only weigh in metric - that was at least 10 years ago.
We usually converted the baby's weight into pounds and ounces for the parents and for the infamous crib card, but that was it.
Is this maybe a regional variance?
Wondering if anyone else is still using pounds and ounces ...
