Here is some evidence that "GERD" is caused by allergies.
I put "GERD" in parenthesis because GERD mimics esophageal
esophagitis"EE" and I believe that what is happening is that these
kids are misdiagnosed. The term reflux is also used and colic is often
seen with reflux. In my practice, it is rare that dietary changes do
not help the kids I diagnose with "reflux" or "colic".
