>The method has advantages such as quick wrapping at minimal cost and fast unwrapping if those hives are needed. --- Allen?

I don't happen to have that edition, but I've used this method among many others. It works fine.

My wraps for this style are insulated, though and we use top entrances.

The main drawback in this method is the need to move hives into rows and the difficulty in accessing the hives in that configuration. Some people complain about drifting, but I have not noticed it.

For that reason, most Alberta beekeepers wrap four hives on a pallet. The current favourite wrap is a 7' foot square with grommets which is placed on top of the hives. The sides of the wrap are then folded down and a tarp strap pulls the corners together along the sides.

If you use the Google site search at http://www.honeybeeworld.com/localsearch.htm and search for "wrap" or "unwrap", you'll get more pictures, too.
