And just how did they test the baby for these allergies? Having witnessed one of these so-called allergy tests (and here I'm probably revealing my skepticism) where they waved a piece of paper over the baby while the assistant held the baby and pushed on the mom's arm for muscle-testing - I would have to say in my scientific opinion - hogwash! Just because it's a GP or a homeopath doesn't mean they know beans about breast milk. Or breastfeeding. Or that they are truly supportive. Read some of the previous discussions on lactnet about "reflux", tongue-tie, high supply, positioning, rapid gut transit, etc.

Subject: Acid levels in breastmilk
Please save my sanity wise people. Permission to post - I have a mum who has on going problems with her little one and feeding, most of which have been ironed out. The baby has very bad reflux and has now had some allergy testing done via the GP and the results showed he is sensitive to tomatoes, coffee and Oats but not Wheat, via mum's milk. She has also been to see a homeopath and she has told Mum that her breastmilk may have high acid levels, is this possible? Mum is worried that the fact that has heartburn and acid reflux is making her milk acidic, I have said not (Am I wrong?)
Thank you in advance
Julie
