Unfortunately most ob's tell mom's that they absolutely must wean if they are
pregnant. There is NO data that I know of to support this and there is data
indicating it is not harmful....I usually ask mother's if they are asked to
obstain from sexual relations... the hormones involved are the same...As for
nutition, and I hope there are some nutritionists to respond, the needs of
nursing and pregnancy will be met... even at a cost to the mother so...it is
in her best interest to eat well so that she have the resourses to run her
own body.
