It's a delicate balance between mom's anatomy and baby's mouth. A lot of the
moms I work with (Hispanic) fit best into a 24mm shield, and some even have
to be crammed into that, leaving me wishing I had a 27 or 28mm option as
well. Really! The bottom line is that regardless of baby's size, if the
nipple is so crammed into the shield that milk can't move, then it doesn't
matter.
Sometimes what's good for mom is not so good for baby, or vice versa. That's
really tough. Then we have to choose the lesser of two evils and hope for
the best.
