A question about contact nipple shields. I work in a hospital and we occassionally use contact nipple shields. These are currently on manufacturer back order. The company sent us the non sterile nipple shields. My question is what are other hopsitals doing with these. Are you sterilizing them prior to use? If so how? Also, wondering since infants mouths are not sterile and neither is a breast, do we have to sterilize these prior to use? thank you for your information.
