What a beautiful story, Karen!
Good for you, to persist on the KMC/KDC (and not KFC... hahaha!).
I'm pretty familiar with this trait of persistence.
It seems to be bringing about better guidelines on breastfeeding and dealing
with crying! :-)
And it also brought relaction with our third daughter (now 16, and at this
very moment 8.44 beautifully playing her violin), when I was seriously ill
with childbed fever.
Persistence on behalf and to the benefit of our children is, I think,
something extremely valuable for the parent-child relationship.
I'm sure there are hundreds, thousands of beautiful stories on S2S and that
is why I have such a hard time believing there is insufficient scientific
evidence.
I hope some good references will come up.
Bye,
Marianne Vanderveen IBCLC, Netherlands
