Give me a break. Cows have been SHARING MILK with us since we discovered how to domesticate them. There are risks of cows SHARING their milk with us. Cows have not been financially compensated for sharing their milk with us, but their domesticators have been. There are RISKS of the commodification of sharing cows milk.
For crying out loud, if we can develop systems that convince us that cows milk is save to commodify and share, why then are we acting like the process is any different for human milk?
I'm in an cranky mood today, but this whole discussion defies logic. All mammals drink milk. Therefore, all mammals are at ris of transmitting a few disease through this milk, but their young are protected from more disease by drinking it. Some cultures do eat blood -- but they mostly cook it first.
If we can sell cows milk in a carton, really please tell me what is different from making that a safe process for human milk?
