Jeanette, interesting that you posted this. Even though, I have no outside resources to share ....I am currently working with a deaf couple with a newborn. Lovely people, read lips well, I understand their speech I admit to having limited sign experience but the consults went really well. I have seen them 3 times What we have been doing a lot of is: e-mail and skype ..which works so well! Of course, they asked me during the first consult "How will we know she is hungry if we can't hear her cry?" I said, "Don't worry, she is very smart and will show you she is hungry, way before she cries...just keep her close...watch and follow her."
I have to admit that working with this family and watching them grow and thrive has been one of the most satisfying experiences for me......it warms my heart just to know she is nursing.
