When I said 'Irish ridiculousness' I was absolutely not intending to
suggest this was typical in any way - it was more ridiculousness that
happens to have come out of Ireland....but it could have come from
anywhere in the West, sadly.
This sort of ridiculousness - columnist writing something possibly
confected - is very, very common.
