This is just me talking but I find this policy crazy. So if i get this right the hospital does a culture on the mothers breastmilk because IF it had something in it (what exactly are they looking for?) then they would do what with that mothers EBM - place it in another fridge?

The reasoning for this culture is to protect other mothers EBM from this possibilty of a contamination from the x bacteria leaking through the plastic bottle into another bottle of EBM?

So i am curious do they culture bottles of formula as well? There have been many times that formula has been recalled because it has been contaminated. The bottles of formula sit close together as well.
