I think this is almost certain....infrequent feeding, early topping 
up, horrendously complicated over-management, large quantities of 
formula all add up to a situation where happy, responsive and 
effective breastfeeding becomes a virtual impossibility.

Good news is that it can be turned round - but it does need a 
different mindset and for the mother to *understand* what 
breastfeeding is and how it works.

In these situations, mothers often lose confidence in themselves and 
in their ability to meet their babies' needs.
