This year for WBW, I am making certificates to acknowledge moms' overcoming challenges in breastfeeding (thrush, supply, mastitis, etc) and for extended bf.

With the discussions about bf being the norm, and all moms being good moms - what do I title the certificate? Being a WBW celebration, there will not be moms who chose to formula feed, so there is not much fear of offending them.

What I've come up with so far is, "Award of Endurance [I don't like that word]. For your persistance and tenacity for continuing to breastfeeding during [thrush] has not gone unnoticed by your child."

Any ideas to change "Endurance"? It means a struggle to me, something not happy - but then, when is having masitis a happy time?? lol

Last year, moms each received a certificate and a chocolate, depending on how long they continued to breastfeeding (any, 1 month, 6 months, 3 years, etc). It was difficult to guage the amount of chocolate to buy (but I enjoyed eating the leftovers). We also had a fashion show of nursing designs, nursing capes, and baby wearing items. Plus, a free bbq. In Canada, we officially celebrate the first week in October (40th week of year), but because I do a bbq, I celebrate the 1st week of August.
