Dear collegue's,
I had a phonecall from a mother who told me that her milk smell dirty.
Like rotten eggs.
She smells it when she is feeding her baby or when she is pumping her milk.
Her baby is 4 months old.
I asked about medication and foodsupplements or changes in her diet.
No medication
No supplements
She started drinking more buttermilk. Her mother told her to do so.
Her child is not rejecting her milk and is thriving well according to the
mother.
I know that storaged milk kan smell and taste funny due to the lipase
breaking down the fatty acids.
I saw on the internet that some mothers have this "problem" but I did not
find what the cause is?
Searched the archives for -smell rotten eggs-
Rotten eggs - H2S?
Digestion or rotting of sulfur proteins???
What is going on?
Thank you in advance
