Just wanted to add to the tongue-tie discussion - our son was/is
tongue-tied.  He was slow to gain/low output until his posterior
clipping.  Poop took a bit to return even though gaining - he had a
lot of great mec poops at birth so I think he was just leaned out!

I agree that the tongue-tie affects peristalsis.  I can't find any
research on this, but google tongue-tie and reflux - there's a lot of
babies with both.  His clipping was possibly not quite agressive
enough, and we had every gi prob in book - *very* infrequent stooling,
GERD leading to feeding refusal.  Great gaining throughout.

On the stool consistency - post-clip, once he got going, he had
"normal" bf poops for about 3 wks, but then very infrequent - prob
every 10 days or so - and they were like the consistency you
described.  Hope this helps!
