Nikki's study submission writes:
Conclusions There is a significant incidence of positive serology among
women interested in donating human milk. This implies that there may be
significant risk associated with peer-to-peer distribution of human milk from
unscreened donors.
~~~ Wow, I wonder how this compares to the incidence of positive serology
in the general population. Good information to know. Women can be caught
between giving their babies the substandard but theoretically standardized
liquid that is AIM and giving their babies live human milk from a loving
friend or a concerned neighbor with unknown status.
