Here is Ontario Canada there has been a "cosmetic pesticide use" ban for at least two summers now, maybe three.  That means that lawns, city parks etc are not sprayed.  There is now an abundance of dandelions and the short clovers all over, and you know it really doesnt look that bad, at least to a beekeper. Roadways may still be sprayed but more so now this is limited and so there is milkweed, white and yellow clover, trefoil, joe- pye and all kinds of things for km of roadway. This has been good for us because in the last few years with strong prices a lot of alfalpha and pasture has been put to wheat, corn and soy. 
Another upside is that just this spring data showed a precipitous drop in pesticide residues in streams and surface waters.
