Does anybody have any idea where switching between breasts and timing feeds originated? I am assuming it started in hospitals, but I am very interested in learning the actual origins.
I would also be interested to know how many of you hospital based LCs still see this in practice. I am astonished at how many mothers I speak to (on a daily basis) who are switching breasts at specific times during feeds.
Thanks!
