Hello,
With my four children, solids started anywhere from 7 months to 1
year. No issues. I might add a little something about my personal
experience from childhood. My mother informed me that I took a long
time to feed (bottle). Even in the hospital, back in the 60's my mom
was in for one week after birth, the nurses took their time feeding
me. I did not start solids within that first year. The doctor was not
concerned as I was growing and meeting the milestones. I was shocked
to learn that I was not able to eat table food until I was three years
old! Can you imagine if that were today? I do not think a doctor
would be so "unconcerned." :) I do not know what the issue was.
I know even as an adult, swallowing pills can give me trouble--and now
I have major reflux, which I have been able to get under control
without meds----stress is my biggest issue. My doctor did not
understand the difficulty of giving up coffee, tomatoes and wine. I am
Italian you know! :) Anyway, once I did start eating "normal"
food--definitely no issues!!!
Kind Regards,
Gloria Thai
Va.
