Inflammatory breast cancer looks like mastitis, but does not respond to
treatment.
An abscess can fail to respond to treatment as well, but often they
partially respond, but one area fails to resolve completely.
An ultrasound is indicated.
If there is no cancer and no abscess, then it could be MRSA, and a different
antibiotic may be necessary. In our community Bactrim is still useful, but
sometimes it must be an IV antibiotic.
