Dear Listmates,
Permission to post from a mom traveling next month to England for 14 days.
Mother takes Domperidone (Motillium) about four times a day, and Mother's
Milk Special Blend plus additional Goat's Rue to maintain her milk supply.
Baby is 9 months old and is on some solids. Mother asked me about traveling
with the Motillium and these supplements. She would like to take what she
needs for the travel day in her carry-on luggage, and pack the rest in her
check-in luggage. She has obtained a letter from the infant's pediatrician
regarding the need to take these drugs to maintain her milk supply, as she
has had major breast reduction surgery. Does anyone have experience with
traveling with a large number of "nutriceuticals" and a medication which is
not FDA approved in the USA for milk supply? Do you think that she will have
more difficulty going through US Customs on the return trip?
The second part of her question to me is whether or not she can purchase
the Domperidone in England without a RX to bring home with her. I guess if
the med is in danger of being confiscated in US Customs, than it would be
kind of senseless to buy it there and try to get it through Customs.
Hoping that you wise people might have some information for me that I can
share with her. Thank you in advance.
