Dear everyone
Happy World Breastfeeding Week!
I wonder if any of you kind ladies can help me
find out what the current Spanish HIV and infant
feeding guidelines are? I have found a document
which I'm hoping gives the current
2007, available at
<http://www.msc.es/ciudadanos/enfLesiones/enfTransmisibles/sida/docs/Recomendaciones_VIH_embarazoyprevencion_Junio2007.pdf>http://www.msc.es/ciudadanos/enfLesiones/enfTransmisibles/sida/docs/Recomendaciones_VIH_embarazoyprevencion_Junio2007.pdf
(accessed 22 July 2010)
I realize that the above doesn't have all the
accents etc in place - sorry. When I pasted this
title from the website into an email, it looked like this;
June 2007
But when I try and paste the second version into
another document it comes out with boxes in it ....Sorry again!
Anyway, unfortunately I don't speak Spanish and I
really need to find out what these guidelines
recommend. Can anyone help me out?
I need to know :
1) if possible, if these are the latest, most up to date recommendations?
2) if HIV+ mothers are advised to breastfeed, or
are prevented from breastfeeding, eg do the
guidelines recommend formula-feeding by HIV+
mothers in Spain because of the risk of
transmission of HIV through breastfeeding?
3) if there is any provision in the guidelines
for HIV+ mothers to home-pasteurize their own breastmilk for their babies?
If anyone can help me answer any of these
questions then I would be so very grateful. If
anyone can answer even one or two questions, that
would be great, and I don't need a word for word
translation unless someone already has it ...
Many thanks in advance
