I have a mom whose baby is not gaining well, and part of the problem is that
she gets a piercing pain in her head whenever she nurses, and sometimes it
goes on to become a migraine. Same thing happened with her other child.
This baby is one month old, and I just advised her to supplement her baby
while she continues to pump, take fenugreek and check with her doc about a
course of Reglan. She is on WIC, lives with her mother, gr 2, para 2. Why
would she get the migraines, and if they are hormone driven, what can we do?
I think her pain, and low supply are both contributing to poor suckling of
this infant. But what to do?
