i think morgan has pointed out the very core of what this discussion
should be about. not about the decisions a man or a woman make about
their own lives, but the impact these decisions have on the lives of
our children.
as most of us are living in "developed" western countries, we do have
choices a lot of other people in the world have not.
like wether to have a child at this particular moment or work in this
particular job.
and on the other hand, the state/government/whatever (which in a
democratic state is head of the armed forces as far as i'm informed)
has a choice on how to "use" parents in the forces. sending a
lactating mother away on a mission might not be the best idea, esp if
you want to be a good example on how to treat mothers in the
"workforce".
