Not a bad article, but does Freda really tell moms to time each breast?
12 minutes on the first side and 18 ( not 15, not 20, but 18?) on the second
side? Where did that come from? Probably a journalistic misquote. And
what is the LLL evangelists idea? I thought we are usually called
missionaries? Zealots? Now we are evangelists? Halleluyah!!
Hi Esther and all,
No, this is not a misprint. I've been Freda's colleague for 13+ years, and
she does have her own style, sometimes with very specific recommendations
for timing of feedings and/or pumpings. I also noticed the "LLL
evangelists" idea. For some reason, people seem to need to label LLL Leaders. If I
am an "evangelist" then I guess I am simply spreading the "good news" that
breastfeeding is both normal and amazing. :) It's a lot better than the
"Nazi" label thrown at me years ago!
Peace,
Judy
