I've seen this with quite a few tongue-tied babies. As the shift is made
for baby's efficiency to drive supply, some moms actually have a significant
drop in supply, lowered ejection power as supply downregulates and
baby's former "surfing" technique doesn't' work anymore. Baby gets frustrated,
stops gaining as well, or starts losing. Some babies have really stretchy
tongue-ties that cause no pain, others are so tight, and weak they can't cause
pain. Lack of pain doesn't always mean better tongue function with these
little ones. Hope that helps with this picture a bit. Ruling out illness
and such of course.
Peace,
Judy
