Marianne -- these questions are more commonplace than you realize! ILCA has
a lovely hand-out available via link on its home-page, entitled "Influenza
References." It isn't meant to be exhaustive, but highlights some of the
recent policy statements, and underlying research, about flu, vaccines and
immunities. This is a nice document to wave around with administrators and
decision-makers who are just now tuning into the fact that BF women can help
keep their babies healthy. (We here in the USA are still eagerly
[impatiently ....] waiting for the Centers for Disease Control to provide
their promised revision to their Jul 6 statement, which would have hospitals
separate the H1N1-positive mother from her BF'g infant.)
