Surely he needs to supply evidence of his opinion?

You cannot prove a negative, you know!  He came to you, and said he was
convinced that dish washer liquid, caused emotional problems in the
family, would you be looking for evidence that it doesn't?  Would you
find any?  If you didn't find any, would he be proven right?
