One of my colleagues is very pregnant with her second baby. She has the
autoimmune idiopathic thrombocytopenia - low platelets, high risk for
bleeding.
Her first baby was born in a large medical center, and the lactation
consultants there were crazy over not letting the baby nurse more than 5
minutes on a side and told her she could not pump. Now, this was less than 3
years ago and this seems like ridiculous advice. Malpractice, in fact.

We have promised her that she will get excellent help - and she asked if she
should have a special plan of care. My partner in crime Aimee Creelman and I
think that the bottom line is - get a good latch, if she needs to pump use a
good pump properly. And that is the plan of care!! Same as for anyone!

Anybody else got experience with good results with ITP???
