While we are on the topic, can anyone supply the reference for the dose of vitamin D required to increase its concentration in breastmilk?
Would you not also need to know quite precisely the amount of breastmilk the baby is taking, to be able to calculate the total daily dose received from a known concentration in the milk?
I am having trouble figuring out the relationship between micrograms and international units of vitamin D. Wikipedia says one microgram equals 25 IU, but all the numbers given in the article show a relationship of 1:40. Does anyone know which is correct?
