miliaria=prickly heat: retention of sweat in ducts and pores of the sweat
glands when they are occluded by keratinous plugs. There is miliaria
crystallina, which are tiny clear vesicles full of sweat that rupture easily
with little pressure, and miliaria rubra, which is more like papulovesicles
with intense erythema usually in sites of occlusion or flexural creases like
the elbows. Milia= a superficial epidermal inclusion cyst that has keratin
in it. They are 1-2mm firm papules, pearly white, usually over the nose,
face, and gums. When they are in the midline of the palate they are called
Epstein pearls.
