Can I just say that mad cow/CJD has *never* been raised as an issue
for bf mothers in the UK, either as donors or in relation to bf their
own children.

CJD was a big issue a while ago, and I believe I am right in saying
it began in the UK, but no one ever suggested that there was vertical
transmission from mother to baby.

Actually, no one ever raised it in relation to formula or other cows
milk either - and if we are worried about the *milk* and not the
*meat*, formula would be a greater risk than breastmilk!
