This is NOT a scientific sampling - because, as an IBCLC, I only get called on the PROBLEMS - but enough of my co-workers as well as moms I've helped have reported a reduction in breast milk production when starting up on the mini-pill - and an increase when they quit taking it, that this is one of my first questions when a working mom tells me her milk production is down...
Unfortunately there are two times when doctors seem to push this drug - right after delivery - and right before returning to work...can't think of two worse times!
Of course some women have no problem - but they're not the ones who come to us, are they?
