What's the reason for not allowing her to keep her baby with her during the
exam?
Is there a way to deal with this reason?

Subject: IBLCE exam and breastfeeding
As president of our national IBCLC association, I have been addressed by an
IBLCE exam candidate complaining for not being allowed to sit at the exam
while carrying/nursing/attaching to her 3 mos old infant. She had been
already informed by our IBLCE representant about the exam rules and
suggestions, i.e. providing an EBM bottle or arranging for a sitter caring
for the baby, whom she can reach outside the room and breastfeed on
request - no extra time for the exam being provided. She is p...off,
charging 'us' of discrimination and inconsistency with our goals. While I
acknowledge the need for standard procedures I wonder whether there is some
truth in her words ...
