You are so right!  Actually, I learned how to do it in the least stressful
way possible for the baby - during the deep sleep that occurs after a good
nursing - but at the time (1980's) we were told it was NOT a good idea to do
a painful procedure while the baby was at the breast for fear they would
connect being breastfed with pain.

 

Now research disproves it.
