So, I can use that while I highlight that the American Academy of

and shut the door for 12 hour s.

Hello all,
Having been lucky enough to hear Jim McKenna three times in about 24 hours
this past weekend at the LLL conference in Albany, the crib recall is quite
a development. As he said, it's not really the cribs (though if faulty, it
is) but the idea that children are alone in a room by themselves, and so
vulnerable. Even though the AAP recommends children sleep "in close
proximity" there is no time suggestion and I've heard people say "Oh yes but that's
only for the first month or so." McKenna suggested that if we really want
to reduce the risk of SIDS and promote normal growth and development, it
should be proximate/shared sleep for 6-12 months. Parents need this
information to counter the unnatural and potentially dangerous recommendations
flying around in such a cavalier manner these days.
Peace,
Judy
