Hi All,
Been doing this a while now and have never heard of this! I have a mom with
inverted nipples, who is able to only directly breastfeed her son with a
24mm Medela nipple shield. Her right nipple everts upon her 7 wk olds
suckling, they left barely everts. The problem is that after several
minutes of suckling, her right nipple extends long enough for her nipple
tisuue to begin pulling through the four little "pores" on the nipple
shield, and its causing a great deal of discomfort. She has tried cutting
of the end of the shield but thinks the edges were too rough and maybe
bothered the babies mouth.
Baby will not attach without shield, mom has been bottling too, he acts a
bit suck/nipple confused when but to breast. Any suggestions?
