Hello to all...
I am looking for any studies, or relevant information to back up the benefit of having an IBCLC at a pediatrician office. Be that related to longer durations of breastfeeding (have found some studies, but none really convincing), and or billing for these services through the office. Anything anyone thinks might help back up this concept I would appreciate.
I feel very passionately about how this may increase the length of time a mother breastfeeds. I previously lived in South Carolina, and there many large Ped. offices had IBCLCs on staff, and this is really where I would like to go professionally. I have one pediatrician in the area very interested, but he doesn't get to make hiring decisions.
Also, if anyone out there is currently filling this role-I would love to hear about what all tasks you fulfill for the office.
Thanks so much
Deann Ragsdale RNC-NIC, IBCLC? (the website says so, but we'll see when the mail comes)
