The pacifier discussion is overstepping the guidelines for posting to LN. Please consider whether your post adds anything to our knowledge of how to support breastfeeding before sending it, if what you have is mainly a report of how you used a pacifier with your own children. We are not taking a vote on how many of us used pacifiers 'back in the days' nor are we taking a vote on how many of us believe they ought to be sold only by prescription from an IBCLC, though one might think that is the purpose of the list, if one only just signed up this week.

veteran thumbsucker who needed orthodontia, mother of two non-thumbsucking, never bottle-fed and non-paci-using children who both needed orthodontia for the SAME MALOCCLUSION as their mother - proving that thumb-sucking for 15 years alters DNA ??
