I googled 'breastfeeding happiness' and found this: http://www.rxpgnews.com/medicalnews/health/mental/article_5106.shtml
I know I have an article around here somewhere looking at the adult life satisfaction of 'LLL' babies. If I find it, I'll scan it and send it to you (I'm currently re-organizing my filing system). Not sure how useful it will be - I haven't read it for years and can't remember how well it's constructed, etc. - but it's interesting.

Subject: Studies on extended nursing needed
Hello,
I am searching for any studies that may exist indicating that extended nursing is normal, and/or that children are actually benefited from the practice of extended nursing.
If you can help me with this, I would sure appreciate it. My e-mail address is [log in to unmask]
Thanks,
Brenda Phipps, BS, IBCLC
