Dear Friends:
I wish that WIC had flocks of peer counselors in every site. Peer counselors
make the biggest difference and provide the most support in the community.

Any specialty cases could be referred to a LC; the evidence behind peer
counselors is monumental. Look at the success of La Leche League. Women
respond best to women like themselves.

One doesn't use a LC for breastfeeding support, at least not in my
community. Women hire LCs for problems.
