Liz and Winnie both eloquently state my feelings and thoughts:

If our credential is considered *entry level* why do we need a *lesser*
credential? I have long felt the need for a higher level test. A lower
level test is not going to do away with the *other* problematic ones out
there.

When I wrote the exam for the first time, there were only a handful of good
lactation text books. Since then there has been an explosion of new
knowledge.

It seems (from the outside) that IBLCE is trying to solve what is probably a
USA-mainly problem?

The monetary value alone of a consult with an IBCLC far outweighs the cost
of failed breastfeeding. This is the message that the IBLCE needs to be
getting out there.
