Why would you not give the baby all of the colostrum?  The mother's body
produces it because the baby needs it ... the mother's body doesn't know the
difference between feeding and expressing.  If the baby was feeding at
breast, no one would have to make a decision about when to switch from
colostrums to transitional and mature milk.  The mother's body makes that
decision.  There is no excess colostrum. There is only just as much as the
baby needs. Am I missing something?
