I'm not currently "working" but a couple of months ago I used Lactnet to
find an LC for a friend in the US with a newborn, and she just sent me an
email titled "I love his milk face!"
she just went back to work after 3 months.
excerpt:
"...I just wanted to thank you for all of your help in getting me a
lactation consult. I actually ended up going to weekly meetings at the
XXXXXXX Breast Feeding Center <<snip>>. It was fantastic getting the support
of other nursing women and building confidence << snip >> I also learned
techniques just by watching others nurse. A lactation consultant led the
meetings and gave us tips and tricks. I miss it so much! << snip >>....
I am back at work and things seem to be going well..." (talks about her
pumping schedule)
<<<< snip >>>>>
"....Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how well the breastfeeding is
going. I am thankful I got help early or I never would have made it. Now, it
is the only thing keeping me sane while I am leaving him for 9 hours a day.
I look forward to the bonding time when I get home and he loves it as well.
<<snip>> I have been able to help a number of other women with all I have
learned!"
love those happy moms and babies!!!
hasta luego,
vicki hayes, mom of 3 boys, RN, IBCLC, in chipiona spain
