Heather, did someone check for atypical tongue-tie or tongue bunching? Did you do a digital suck assessment? How did the baby approach the latch? If s/he shlurped on but then settled in the latch could look good but the damage occur during inital attachment (that's what happened to me). Could she have a simmering staff infection? Bactroban or oral abx may help. Is mom using the Gentian Violet too often? It is useful but caustic. Please let us know what happens. Rowena
